			<title>London Anthropology Day 2008 Workshops</title>

			<description><![CDATA[ <h2>The workshops for the London Anthropology Day 2008 have now been finalized! Once you have received a confirmation of your booking, you will also receive an email with descriptions of the workshops and a workshop preference form, whereby you can choose which workshops you would like to attend on the day. In order to meet your workshop preferences, the form needs to be returned ASAP to<a href="mailto: education@therai.org.uk">education@therai.org.uk</a>. The closing date for workshop preference forms to be admitted is June 15th 2008. If you would like to preview the workshops available on the day, you can download descriptions  here </h2>

			<description><![CDATA[ <h2>If you didn't manage to get a place at the London Anthropology Day, or would like more info about a particular department, we've complied a list of all the individual open days of the participating universities that coming up soon. </h2>

<p>These are general open days where you can meet representatives from the anthropology department, take a tour and often attend a talk on studying anthropology or meet current students. There are lots coming up in the next couple of months. </p>

			<title>Wales Anthropology Day!</title>

			<description><![CDATA[ <h2>27th June 2008, University of Wales, Lampeter</h2>
<p>Another chance to get a taste of anthropology! <a href="http://www.lamp.ac.uk/archanth/index.htm">The University of Wales, Lampeter</a> in association with the <a href="http://www.therai.org.uk/education/index.html">Royal Anthropological Institute</a> is organising a special Wales Anthropology Day on the 27th June 2007. Like the London Anthropology day, it will consist of lots of different workshops run by anthropologists to give you a chance to get a feeling for the full range of topics anthropology covers. The workshops will be run by staff and students from Lampeter as well as from Cardiff, Aberystwyth and Sheffield.  Workshops will include "You are what you eat: the anthropology of food," "Understanding the dead: the role of forensic anthropology," and "Body Talk: Sexuality, Tatoos and Body Modification."  One of the sessions will be hosted by BBC staff who worked on the <a href="http://www.bbc.co.uk/tribe/">TRIBE</a> series (BBC Wales). <h3>Want to find out more about anthropology and have a good night out?</h3>

<p>In the week of the anniversary of Ghana’s independence, the Royal Anthropological Institute’s <em>Discover Anthropology</em> outreach programme brings you a special evening of film screenings by visual anthropologists and a chance to explore the October Gallery’s exhibition “From Courage to Freedom” of work by 3 West African artists.</p>

<p>Main screening 7-8pm: <em>Future Remembrance: Photography and Image Arts in Ghana</em> by visual anthropologists Tobias Wendl and Nancy du Plessis.</p>

<p>This documentary explores the social, economic and spiritual aspects of the work of Ghanaian photographers, sculptors and painters, ranging from the elaborate backdrops created by studio photographers to the powerful life-size sculptures commissioned by families who want to remember their dead loved ones.</p>

<p>After the main screening visitors can watch short films on Ghana by anthropology students, explore the gallery and chat to anthropologists.</p>
